The Intro to Pistol Combatives is a one-day collaboration course with AHT and AmTac Shooting, led by David Acosta Jr. This combative pistol course builds on the fundamentals taught in our Defensive Pistol course, filling in the gaps to prepare students for real-world encounters.
Designed to integrate pistol deployment with striking and blade techniques, this combat pistol course teaches strategies to transition seamlessly between tools based on situational awareness. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics of violence and develop tactical skills to respond effectively in high-pressure scenarios. This combative firearms training is a must for anyone serious about elevating their defensive capabilities.

After you purchase this course, an AHT firearms instructor will contact you via email approximately two weeks from the course date with pre-course details and provide you with an exact location for the training. All course dates are subject to change due to full-time commitment to Law Enforcement.
AHT / AmTac Intro to Pistol Combatives
• 200 rounds of appropriate caliber ammunition (more or less as desired)
• Quality semi-auto pistol
• Pistol Optic (iron sights also acceptable)
• Secure kydex-type holster (inside or outside waistband)
• Quality belt
• At least 3 pistol magazines
• Magazine pouch(s)

• Eye protection (tinted/clear lenses)
• Hearing protection (electronic preferred but not required)
• Firearm cleaning/maintenance gear
• Weather-appropriate clothing

• Training blade and sheath (Blue ADS, AmTac, or Headhunter Blade)
• Training pistol and holster (Blue G19 with Blackpoint Tactical Holster) • Training tourniquet (Blue Aero Health Rapid Stop TQ)
Recommended Equipment:
• Individual first aid kit (TCCC/TECC)
• Training pistol, blade, and tourniquet matching your live gear
• Stowable/packable chair
• Sunblock, bug spray, and other comfort items
• Note-taking materials belt
AHT courses are not eligible for refunds within 30 days of the originally scheduled course date. In the event that AHT reschedules a course due to an obligation the 30-day policy shifts to the newly scheduled date. If the refund is requested more than 30 days from the scheduled course date, the buyer will be given a course credit to use on a future course.
